HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 14, 2020) – Washington County Health Officer Earl Stoner announces the second confirmed death of a Washington County resident from 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The resident was a woman in her 90’s with no known preexisting medical conditions.
“This is a tragic loss and our hearts go out to the family in this difficult time. It is absolutely critical that everyone is diligent in doing their part to help slow the spread of this virus in our community” said County Health Officer Earl Stoner.
The Washington County Joint Information Center continues to urge residents to take precautions and follow the directives issued by Governor Larry Hogan to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community. Please continue to practice social distancing, stay home unless it is for an essential reason, disinfect commonly touched surfaces, and wash your hands frequently.
