Washington County Treasurer’s Announces the Conclusion of the Temporary Change in Public Hours

HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 27, 2023) – Washington County Treasurer Matt Breeding announces the conclusion of the temporary change in public hours, which was in effect from Tuesday, July 25, 2023, to Friday, August 4, 2023. The office will now resume its normal office hours for the public, opening from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. However, it is important to note that the office will remain closed to the public on Fridays at 3:00 p.m.

The temporary change in public hours was implemented in response to the influx of tax payments and staffing shortages. During this period, the adjusted public hours allowed staff members to process tax payments efficiently, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the office.

The Washington County Treasurer’s Office reaffirms its commitment to providing excellent service to the residents of Washington County. While the temporary change in public hours has ended, citizens are still highly encouraged to use the County’s online payment portal at www.washco-md.net for convenient and seamless transactions.

For any further information, please feel free to contact Washington County’s Public Relations and Marketing Department at 240-313-2380. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during the temporary adjustment in public hours, and we look forward to continuing to serve you efficiently during our regular office hours.
