Washington County Gaming Commission Awards Over $2.4 Million in Allocations

HAGERSTOWN, MD (August 6, 2024) – The Washington County Gaming Commission announced its gaming fund distribution to the Washington County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, as well as 76 local charitable organizations.

The Gaming Fund total of $2,414,285.89 for fiscal year 2024, which ended June 30, represents a decrease of $128,744.45 when compared to fiscal year 2023 revenues.

State law requires funds be divided equally between the Washington County Fire and Rescue Association and local charities, and in January the Washington County Fire and Rescue Association received $524,215.80. As of today, an additional $682,927.14 will be distributed, bringing the yearly total for Fire and Rescue to $1,207,142.94.

A total of $1,207,142.95 of 2024 gaming funds were allocated to 53 of the 76 charitable organizations applying.
