HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 26, 2026) – The Washington County Division of Emergency Services is proud to announce that several Emergency Medical Services (EMS) clinicians were recently recognized by Meritus Health for their exceptional pre-hospital care and early recognition of ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) heart attack patients.
STEMI, or ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction, is a severe and life-threatening type of heart attack that requires rapid identification and treatment to improve patient outcomes. The STEMI recognition program honors EMS personnel who demonstrate excellence in the early assessment, treatment, and rapid transport of cardiac patients.
The following EMS clinicians received STEMI pins last week:
- Brandon Neuenschwander – Community Rescue Service (CRS)
- Haileigh Taylor – Community Rescue Service (CRS)
- Erin Keefer – Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue Services
- Melonie Doyle – Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue Services
These awards recognize the critical role EMS professionals play in delivering lifesaving care before patients arrive at the hospital. Early recognition and intervention by EMS crews can significantly improve outcomes for heart attack patients and help save lives throughout the community.
The Washington County Division of Emergency Services congratulates these clinicians on this well-deserved recognition and thanks all EMS personnel for their continued dedication, professionalism, and commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical care to the residents of Washington County.
