Maryland Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input for 2026 State Freight Plan Update

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (May 28, 2026) – Washington County Government shares the following information on behalf of the Maryland Department of Transportation.

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking public input as part of the update process for the development of the 2026 Maryland State Freight Plan (SFP). MDOT is currently soliciting feedback on the development and refinement of the Plan’s Vision, Goals, and Objectives.
The Maryland State Freight Plan serves as a statewide strategy to better understand and improve freight mobility, supply chain operations, and transportation efficiency throughout Maryland. The Plan helps identify freight needs, priorities, challenges, and potential solutions that support the safe and efficient movement of goods across the state.

MDOT is seeking input from MDOT Modal Administrations, the State Freight Advisory Committee (SFAC), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), partner agencies, stakeholders, and members of the public. Feedback received through this process will help guide the development of the 2026 Maryland State Freight Plan.

As part of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to:

• Provide feedback on the 2026 SFP Vision and Goals
• Rank the importance of the 2026 SFP Objectives under each Goal
• Provide additional comments and input on the proposed Vision, Goals, and Objectives
• Sign up to receive future news and updates regarding the 2026 Maryland State Freight Plan

he survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed on both desktop and mobile devices. Participants are encouraged to submit responses by Monday, June 15, 2026.
