Washington County Emergency Management Urges Citizens to Sign-Up for Citizen Alert Program

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 3, 2025) – Washington County’s Office of Emergency Management is encouraging all residents to sign up for the newly launched Everbridge Citizen Alert Program, a free service designed to provide timely, critical information during emergencies. This program will send real-time alerts about infrastructure outages, severe weather events such as tornadoes, major traffic incidents, evacuations, crime alerts, and missing persons directly to subscribers.

The Everbridge Citizen Alert Program ensures that alerts are delivered quickly and directly to individuals, based on their preferred communication methods—whether by text, email, or voice message. By signing up, residents will receive critical updates tailored to their location and specific needs.

Participation in the Everbridge Citizen Alert Program is simple and free. Residents are encouraged to visit here to sign up.
