TRAFFIC ALERT: Dogstreet Road Temporarily Reopening

Washington County Road Reopen

HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 13, 2023) – The Washington County Division of Engineering announces that Dogstreet Road in Southern Washington County will be temporarily reopened to traffic, effective Monday, November 13, 2023, at 4:30 pm.

The Dogstreet Road Culvert Replacement Project is a two-phase project. Phase I has just been completed and consisted of grading and channel sediment removal. Phase II consists of replacing the existing culvert, paving, and traffic barrier work. The County is temporarily reopening the road while the contractor is waiting for long lead time materials to arrive for Phase II. A subsequent notice will be provided prior to the commencement of Phase II work, when Dogstreet Road will again be closed to through traffic from the intersection of Nicodemus Mill Road to the intersection of Mount Briar Road. This closure is anticipated in mid-January 2024.

Anticipated completion of the entire project is tentatively scheduled for May 2024.

Please contact the Project Manager, Eric Miklosovich, at 240-313-2448 with any questions.
