Washington County Government Closed for Christmas

HAGERSTOWN, MD (DECEMBER 20, 2018) – In observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas day,Washington County Government offices will be closed on Monday, December 24, 2018 and Tuesday, December 25, 2018. County services will operate as listed below:

  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport terminal and airfield will operate during regularly scheduled business hours. Administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed.
  • Allegiant air services has a flight on Monday, December 24th, with an 8:33 a.m. arrival and a 9:18 a.m. departure. There are no flights on Tuesday, December 25th.
  • Southern Airways Express daily flights to Baltimore-Washington International and Pittsburgh International Airports will operate on schedule.
  • All services at Forty West Landfill and all other transfer stations will be closed on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th. Services will resume on Wednesday, December 26th.
  • Washington County Transit Services will close at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 24th and remained closed through Tuesday, December 25th. All services will return to a regular operating schedule on Wednesday, December 26th.
  • Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
