GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set encompassing networking, virtualization, database management and cloud technologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Configure and manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability.
- Administer SQL databases, including installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Architect, implement, and manage cloud solutions on Azure and AWS platforms.
- Design and deploy Remote Desktop Services (RDS) solutions for remote access and application delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to network, server, and cloud infrastructure.
- Oversee physical infrastructure installations and ensure compliance with industry standards (cabling, mounting hardware…etc).
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification or equivalent experience.
- Azure Solutions Architect certification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in SQL database administration and query optimization.
- AWS experience
- Hands-on experience with Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Experience with construction/cabling practices and infrastructure installations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification
- Master s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Additional certifications in cloud platforms, networking, or virtualization.
- Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework
- Previous experience in a similar role within the technology industry.
- Experience running CAT / cabling
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
