Washington County Parks and Recreation Announces Exciting Updates at Woodland Way Park

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 10, 2026) – Washington County Parks & Recreation is thrilled to announce a series of exciting improvements at Woodland Way Park. Beginning tomorrow, March, 11, 2026, the park’s playground will be temporarily closed as crews remove the old equipment and prepare for the installation of brand-new play structures.

The upgraded playground will feature two modular play structures designed for different age groups, along with new swings and a climber/spinner, offering fun and safe play opportunities for children of all ages. While the final installation may vary slightly from the concept rendering, it will closely reflect the exciting vision shared with the community.

The improvements at Woodland Way Park will take place in several phases throughout 2026:

  • Late March – Early April: Playground installation
  • April 22: Earth Day Tree Planting event
  • May – June: Pavilion installation
  • Fall: Pathway repaving

“These upgrades reflect our ongoing commitment to providing safe, engaging, and accessible recreational spaces for families in Washington County,” said Public Works Director Andrew Eshleman. “We’re excited to equip the Park with amenities so it remains a community gathering space that kids and families can enjoy for years to come.”

Residents are encouraged to follow Washington County Parks and Recreation for updates on the project and to join upcoming events.
