Washington County Office of Grant Management Announces Opioid Restitution Fund Availability

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (August 4, 2026) – The Washington County Office of Grant Management, on behalf of the Washington County Board of County Commissioners, is pleased to announce the availability of funding through the Opioid Restitution Fund (ORF).

State law requires that all ORF funding be used for opioid abatement, supporting evidence-based strategies that reduce opioid use and its impacts. Funds must follow approved guidelines, may not replace existing resources, and must align with Exhibit E, the list of approved opioid remediation uses.

This Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) is intended to support prevention programs operated by community organizations that serve children and families.

In Washington County, these funds support prevention, treatment, recovery, and other opioid abatement efforts that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

Priority Area

Applicants must propose an evidence-based or evidence-informed prevention program that serves children and families and addresses the prevention of opioid misuse.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for an award, the applicant must:

  1. Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization 
  2. Be in “Good Standing” with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT).
  3. Demonstrate a proven track record of fiscal responsibility and programmatic success.

Application Timeline

  • Applications Open: August 3, 2026
  • Applications Close: September 4, 2026
