Washington County Government Closed for New Year’s

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 26, 2023) – In observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Washington County Government offices will be closed beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023 and remain closed on Friday, December 29, 2023, and Monday January 1, 2024. County services will operate as listed below:

  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed starting at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023, and re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
  • Airport Terminal Operating Hours:
    • December 28: 7:00 am – 10:30 pm
    • December 29: 7:00 am – 10:30 pm
    • December 31: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
    • January 1: Terminal Closed
  • Allegiant Air services will continue as scheduled:
    • December 28: 8:29 pm arrival and 9:19 pm departure for flights to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
    • December 29: 8:33 pm arrival and 9:23 pm departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
    • December 31: 9:19 am arrival and 10:09 am departure for flights to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
    • December 31: 2:50 pm arrival and 3:40 pm departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
  • Washington County Environmental Management offices will be closed on Friday, December 29, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024. All services at Forty West Landfill, and all other transfer stations, will be closed on Saturday, December 30, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024. All services will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
  • Washington County Transit Services will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024. Normal transit services will be available on Saturday, December 30, and resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
  • Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
