Washington County Government Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 12, 2023) – In observance of Martin Luther King Day, Washington County Government offices will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023. County services will operate as listed below:
 
  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport terminal and airfield will operate during regularly scheduled business hours. Administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed.
    • Allegiant air services will continue as scheduled:
      • January 16: 8:42 p.m. arrival and 9:27 p.m. departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
  • All services at Forty West Landfill and all other transfer stations will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023. Services will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
  • Washington County Transit Services will continue with normal operations.
  • Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
