Washington County Government Closed for Christmas

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 19, 2024) – In observance of Christmas, Washington County Government offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. County services will operate as listed below:

HAGERSTOWN REGIONAL AIRPORT

The Hagerstown Regional Airport administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and re-open on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Allegiant Air services will continue as scheduled:

  • December 24, 2024: 10:06 a.m. arrival and 10:56 a.m. departure for flights to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
  • December 25, 2024: No scheduled flight

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Washington County Environmental Management offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. All services at Forty West Landfill, and all other transfer stations, will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. All services will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

TRANSIT

Washington County Transit Services will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Normal transit services will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

LAST BUS ROUTE SCHEDULE FOR DECEMBER 24, 2024:

1:45 p.m. Smithsburg

2:15 p.m. Premium Outlets

2:45 p.m. Long Meadow via Locust

2:45 p.m. Maugansville

2:45 p.m. Valley Mall

2:45 p.m. West End

2:45 p.m. Williamsport

3:15 p.m. Funkstown

3:15 p.m. Long Meadow via Eastern

Regular bus services will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

BLACK ROCK GOLF COURSE

Black Rock Golf Course will operate as normal on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. The course will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

PUBLIC SAFETY

All essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
