Washington County Board of Elections Hosts Open House for National Poll Worker Recruitment Day

HAGERSTOWN, MD (August 6, 2025) – The Washington County Board of Elections is pleased to announce an Open House in celebration of National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Election Center, located at 17718 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

This event will provide valuable information for individuals interested in serving as election workers, as well as for anyone curious about the election process. Current election judges and Board of Elections staff will be available to answer questions and demonstrate essential Election Day tools, including a poll book, ballot-marking device, and scanning unit.

Attendees will gain firsthand insight into the operations of Election Day and learn about the important responsibilities of an election judge. Serving as an election judge is a paid position that plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and secure elections in Washington County.

The Board of Elections encourages anyone interested in learning more about the election process or serving their community to attend this informative and interactive event.
