Planned Outage Notification: Temporary Interruption of Phone Services at Washington County Solid Waste Landfill

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 20, 2024) – The Washington County Solid Waste Department announces a planned power outage, scheduled by Potomac Edison, today, March 20, 2024, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. This temporary interruption will impact our office operations, affecting communication channels during the specified outage period.

While the scalehouse will remain operational, the office will be without power. Consequently, our phone lines will be unavailable during the outage duration. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

During this time, our team will continue to manage essential operations to ensure the continued disposal and management of solid waste. However, we kindly request residents and businesses to plan accordingly and refrain from any non-urgent inquiries or communications during the outage period.

Potomac Edison has scheduled this outage to conduct vital maintenance and upgrade work to enhance the reliability of the electrical infrastructure serving our community. We appreciate their efforts in ensuring the long-term stability of our power supply.

We understand the importance of maintaining effective communication channels and are committed to restoring normal operations as soon as the outage concludes. We encourage residents and businesses to visit our Facebook page for any updates or to utilize alternative communication methods where necessary.
