Board of County Commissioners Appoint New Airport Director

Neil Doran
HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 27, 2022) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Doran as Airport Director for Hagerstown Regional Airport.

Doran comes to Washington County Government with an extensive background in aviation. He became actively engaged in aviation studies in 2007 and began working full-time in the aviation sector in December 2013 as a Line Service Technician for Robinson Aviation. Doran then accepted an opportunity to manage Delta Airlines below-wing ramp operations at Hartford-Bradley International Airport.

Doran later returned to New Haven and served as Office Administrator, Safety Officer and Airport Liaison for Robinson Aviation. In the fall of 2016, Doran was hired as Airport Manager of the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport. From 2020 to 2022, Doran served simultaneously as Airport Manager, FBO Manager, Director of Aviation and Chief Operating Officer and worked with a team to achieve impressive growth in airport operations, revenues, fuel, and services sold.

As the newly appointed Airport Director, Doran said, “I’m honored to be given this opportunity to serve as the next Airport Director at Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR). I look forward to meeting the airport staff and members of the local aviation community. I’d like to hear their ideas for improving the airport. It’s my hope that we can cooperatively work together to promote the benefits of HGR – and help the airport and its tenant organizations ascend to new heights.”

“On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and Washington County Government, I welcome Neil Doran as the new director of Hagerstown Regional Airport. With his extensive background in aviation and airport management, I am confident Mr. Doran will lift Hagerstown Regional Airport to new heights,” said County Administrator John Martirano.
