PUBLIC NOTICE: Poffenberger Road Closed as Rehabilitation Project Begins on Two Bridges Crossing at Antietam Creek

HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 3, 2019) – Washington County Division of Engineering notifies citizens that Poffenberger Road will be closed to through traffic at the two bridges crossing Antietam Creek effective Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. This closure will allow work to begin on the rehabilitation of two existing stone arch bridges as well as minor roadway work at the bridge locations.

Completion for the bridge rehabilitation is scheduled for January 2020. The posted detour route during the construction project will utilize Sharpsburg Pike (MD Route 65), Wagaman Road, and Garis Shop Road. Please see map below for reference.
