Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center Experiences Water Break in Sprinkler System; Resident Care Remains Ongoing

WILLIAMSPORT, MD (February 9, 2026) – The Washington County Office of Emergency Management is on the scene of a water-related incident at the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center in Williamsport, Maryland.
The incident was caused by a water break in a sprinkler system on the facility’s third floor, resulting in flooding to non-resident areas of the building.
Emergency personnel responded promptly and are coordinating closely with facility leadership and partner agencies to monitor the situation and provide support as needed. At this time, resident care continues without interruption, and all residents are being appropriately cared for. Measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
Out of an abundance of caution, visitors are strongly advised not to come to the facility at this time.
