Upcoming Changes to Electrical Renewals for Washington County Licenses and Registrations

Upcoming Changes to Electrical Renewals for Washington County Licenses and Registrations

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 12, 2023) – The Washington County Division of Permits & Inspections is excited to announce that electrical renewals for licenses and registrations will soon be submitted and processed electronically. This streamlined process is designed to enhance convenience and efficiency for licensed contractors.

Renewal notifications for electrical licenses and registrations will be sent via email starting the week of October 16th to the email addresses associated with each license/registration.

To complete the renewal process, licensed contractors can follow these steps:

  • Renewal and Payment: Once the account is established or accessed, the license/registration number can be retrieved. Click on the blue link for “Fees Due” and proceed with payment. After successful payment, the license/registration will automatically renew with a new expiration date of December 31, 2026.
  • License/Registration Cards: It’s important to note that a card will be available to print by clicking a button after the renewal has been submitted and fees paid.

After December 31, 2023, any licenses/registrations that have not been renewed will be automatically classified as “Expired.” The grace period for renewals extends until March 31, 2024. Any licenses/registrations not renewed by that date will be marked as “Void.”

This digital renewal system represents an important step toward greater efficiency and accessibility for licensed contractors in Washington County.

For any inquiries or assistance regarding the electronic renewal process, individuals can reach out to Becky Gander at 240-313-2466 or via email at [email protected].
