TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Road Closure on West Potomac Street in Williamsport

HAGERSTOWN, MD (August 6, 2019) – Washington County Government reminds citizens of a road closure on West Potomac Street in Williamsport. The red line on the map indicates where the road will be closed south of North Vermont Street leading to the Route 11 bridge that crosses into West Virginia.The road will be closed on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for the Conococheague Aqueduct Restoration Ribbon Cutting and C&O Canal National Historical Park Headquarters & Visitor Center Groundbreaking ceremony.

All heavy trucks and tractor trailers will be rerouted to I-81 via Conococheague Street. Event attendees will be directed to River Bottom Park for public parking. Pedestrians should use bridge at railroad lift to cross canal.

Residents living on West Potomac Street between the road closure and Cushwa Basin will be allowed in and out to their homes.
