Rise Up Business Stabilization Grants Awarded – Funds Still Available!

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 5, 2020) – The Washington County Department of Business Development encourages small businesses in Washington County, Maryland that meet the criteria for the Rise Up Business Stabilization Grant to submit your application. In the first week of opening the grant program, approximately 300 applications have been submitted, with 36 grants awarded, totaling over $356,000 distributed to local businesses.
Susan Small, Director of Business Development, said, “We want to encourage eligible businesses to continue to apply for the Washington County Rise Up Small Business Stabilization Grant. We have a team assembled to help walk businesses through the application process and answer any questions they might have. The team has been dedicated to processing applications daily and is pleased to say we have been able to Award many applicants within the first couple of days.”
As a local small business, Eichelberger’s Towing and Recovery was notified this week that they had been awarded a grant from the Rise Up Business Stabilization grant program. They said, “We will continue to provide the best Towing & Roadside Assistance for Washington County with your help!! The appreciation I am feeling right now is overwhelming and sheer joy!”

Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020. Applications will be accepted electronically and can be downloaded at www.washcorises.net. Details for submission are stated on the application. The website also provides guidelines, application instructions, and answers to frequently asked questions.
The Department of Business Development has partnered with the City of Hagerstown Department of Community and Economic Development, to administer this grant program that is funded by the CARES Act.
