HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 13, 2024) – The Washington County Division of Permits and Inspections is proud to announce that Ms.Tasha Shifflett, a dedicated permit technician with the County, has been recognized as the Permit Technician of the Year for the State of Maryland by the Maryland Building Officials Association (MBOA). The prestigious award was presented on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in acknowledgment of her exceptional contributions to the permitting profession.

Tasha Shifflett has been an integral part of Washington County for six years, demonstrating unparalleled knowledge and commitment to the permitting process. Her outstanding ability to guide customers and support her colleagues has set a high standard within the Division.

Paula Cauffman, Permit Coordinator, praised Tasha’s dedication and expertise. Ms. Cauffman stated, “Tasha Shifflett is an asset to our division. She is knowledgeable about the permitting processes and procedures and is able to guide customers through the process of permitting. She is a team player and shows great initiative to help others. She is a valuable asset in leading and training new permit technicians and staff members. Tasha has also shown great initiative to expand her job knowledge and professional growth.”

The Division’s Director and Code Official Greg Cartrette also highlighted Tasha’s contributions. Mr. Cartrette said, “Ms. Tasha has shown a great commitment to making our division a success. Our division is much stronger with her, and we are lucky to have Tasha as a part of our team.”

Washington County congratulates Tasha Shifflett on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for her continued dedication and service to the community.
