Washington County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee to Hold Public Meeting

HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 21, 2022) – The Washington County Emergency Management Office announces the Washington County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 100 West Washington Street in Hagerstown.

The meeting will be live streamed on the Washington County Government Facebook page and will be uploaded to the Washington County Government YouTube channel following the meeting. 

The purpose of the meeting is to review updates to the County’s hazard mitigation plan. Members of the public will be given the opportunity to comment on the natural and human-caused hazards most affecting them. 

The Washington County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was last updated in 2017 per federal requirements in Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as enacted by Section 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
