| HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 29, 2025) – The Washington County Department of Business and Economic Development wants to encourage Washington County, MD growers and agricultural businesses to start considering eligible projects for the Washington County Agricultural Innovation and Equipment Grant, opening on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. EST.
This competitive grant program is designed exclusively for Washington County farms and farm owners to fuel growth, spark innovation, and strengthen the local agricultural economy. Now is the time to start gathering your business plan, budget, quotes, estimates, and other supporting documentation. A total of $100,000 in funding is available during this cycle, with individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $25,000.
The grant window opens Monday, October 13, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. EST and closes Friday, October 31, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Business planning or marketing expansion
- Value-added ventures
- Conservation and research improvements
- Upgrades to agricultural buildings or structures
- Purchasing equipment or major fixtures.
All submissions will be evaluated using a predefined project scoring sheet, which outlines the criteria and point values for each section of the application. This scoring sheet is included as part of the application materials to help applicants understand how proposals will be assessed and to guide preparation.
