Washington County Seeking Applicants for Upcoming Vacancy on the Administrative Charging Committee

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (May 20, 2025) – Washington County Government is currently accepting applications for an upcoming vacancy on the Administrative Charging Committee (ACC). This opening follows the planned resignation of a current member, effective June 2025.

The Administrative Charging Committee is a requirement under Maryland law and is responsible for reviewing individual police disciplinary investigations and determining whether administrative charges against an officer are appropriate.

Qualifications and expectations for ACC members are outlined in the Washington County Police Accountability Ordinance, which can be viewed here: https://www.washco-md.net/wp-content/uploads/ORD-2022-10.pdf

New members appointed to the ACC must also complete a 40-hour training conducted by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.
