Flushable Facts & Drain Info 🚽 Maintaining a h Flushable Facts & Drain Info 🚽

Maintaining a healthy sewer system is not only important for homeowners but for Washington County as well. Sewer back-ups can cost homeowners money and damage the county’s drainage systems.

So, what CAN you flush down the drain? Toilet paper and human waste. That's it!

Now, let's talk about flushable wipes. Despite their name, they're not as flushable as you think. When they go down the toilet, they don't break down like toilet paper. Instead, they can clog up our local sewers, causing blockages, backups, and expensive repairs.

Items such as wipes, diapers, feminine products, cat litter, pharmaceuticals, and cooking grease, should go in the trash, not the toilet. By doing this simple act, you're helping keep our county clean and our sewers clear.

It's a small change that makes a big difference to help keep Washington County sewers flowing smoothly. Please think before you flush.

This initiative would not be possible without the support of our County Commissioners, citizens, businesses and the Ice Cream Shop owners and employees. Thank you for making this year's trail a success!

Winners of the raffle will be posted soon and will also be available on our website.
