Washington County Division of Permits & Inspections to Begin Providing Fire Prevention Services July 1

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 18, 2025) – Effective July 1, 2025, the Washington County Division of Permits and Inspections will begin providing Fire Prevention Services to residents and businesses across Washington County. These services will include fire plans review, sprinkler system evaluations, and fire inspections, enhancing the County’s efforts to support life safety and code compliance.

To help prepare the community for this transition, the Division of Permits & Inspections will host an outreach meeting on Friday, June 27, 2025, for general contractors, home builders, fire suppression companies, and municipalities.

This outreach session will provide important information regarding the new services, outline the permitting and inspection processes, and offer an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
