Volunteers Needed for Airport Emergency Disaster Drill

Volunteers Needed for Airport Emergency Disaster Drill

Volunteers Needed for Airport Emergency Disaster Drill on Saturday, October 7, 2023 and is seeking volunteers to help during the drill
HAGERSTOWN, MD (August 22, 2023) – Hagerstown Regional Airport is calling for volunteers to participate in a full-scale simulated aircraft emergency disaster exercise on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This exercise aims to evaluate and enhance the emergency response capabilities of HGR’s emergency agencies. Volunteers will play a vital role by assisting in role-playing as injured passengers.
The exercise presents an excellent opportunity for various organizations to rigorously test their emergency action plans. Volunteers will have the chance to engage with the county’s esteemed first responders, including Fire & Rescue, Meritus Health, and several support organizations. It is noteworthy that Hagerstown Regional Airport conducts a full-scale simulated emergency drill once every three years to ensure preparedness and readiness.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and no prior experience is necessary. Please be aware that clothes may incur damage during the drill; therefore, we recommend dressing accordingly. Rest assured, snacks and refreshments will be provided to all volunteers. To register as a volunteer, please click SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER.
Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of our community. Join us in this crucial exercise to test and strengthen our emergency response capabilities. For further information, please reach out to Washington County’s Public Relations and Marketing Department at 240-313-2380 or [email protected].
