The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is Seeking Applicants to Serve on the Mental Health Authority Board

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 9, 2025) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is currently accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Washington County Mental Health Authority Board (“Board”).

The Board plays a vital role in advocating for a comprehensive mental health system that serves residents of all ages, as outlined in Maryland Code Annotated, Health-General §10-308.

Current vacancies include:

🔹 Child Advocate – An individual who advocates for the mental health needs of children.

🔹 Family Advocate – A family member of someone who has received mental health services in Washington County.

🔹 Consumer Representative – An individual who has personally received mental health services.

🔹 Citizen-at-Large Representative – A general community member with an interest in mental health.

Board members meet a minimum of four times per year, typically on the fourth Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., with one of those meetings being the Annual Meeting in November. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.
