Forty West Landfill Now Able to Accept Used Motor Oil

Hagerstown, MD (June 13, 2023) – The Washington County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling announces the Forty West Landfill is now able to accept used motor oil once again. After undergoing maintenance and repairs since May 31, 2023, the Landfill’s used oil tank has been fully restored, including necessary repairs and a fresh coat of paint, and is now back in service.

Residents and businesses in Washington County can now resume their usual practice of disposing of used motor oil at the Forty West Landfill. This ensures that the community has a convenient and environmentally responsible option for the proper disposal of this potentially hazardous waste.

The Washington County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling appreciates the patience and understanding of the community during the maintenance period and looks forward to continuing to provide effective waste management services to the residents of Washington County.
