Board of County Commissioners Appoint New Director of Golf at Black Rock Golf Course

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 21, 2019) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is pleased the announce the appointment of Ryan Crabtree to Director of Golf at Black Rock Golf Course.
Crabtree is joining Black Rock after serving as the Interim Golf Director since April 2019. As an accomplished golfer, Ryan brings significant knowledge of golf, coaching, and athletic leadership to the golf course. His previous experience includes coaching at the high school level, working in the pro shop and as a course maintenance worker.
A native of Washington County and a graduate of Williamsport High School, Crabtree earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Hagerstown Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure from Shepherd University. Crabtree currently resides in Williamsport with his fiancee.
“I’m now living my dream job less than 20 minutes from home. Golf is my passion. I am very fortunate with this opportunity to work hard and provide a great golf experience for the patrons,” said Crabtree.
“In his time with the County, Ryan has done an excellent job learning all aspects of the golf operation. He brings energy and renewed focus on customer service, professionalism, and expanding the presence of Black Rock in the community. He has shown an ability to connect to players of all ages and abilities and multiplied his impact through involvement with coaching and local tournament play,” said Director of Public Works Andrew Eshleman.
