Clean County Street Sweeper Achieves One Million Pound Milestone

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 8, 2019) – Washington County Division of Environmental Management is proud to announce that since the inception of the Clean County street sweeper in January 2019, over 1 million pounds of debris has been collected off streets and roadways across Washington County, Maryland.
County Administrator Rob Slocum said, “Washington County is One million Pounds cleaner and closer to its permit requirements with this program.”
The street sweeper serves as a tool for treating impervious areas to ensure the County is meeting state mandated requirements for the MS4 permit. To track debris collected throughout county streets, click here.
