PUBLIC NOTICE: Poffenberger Road Scheduled to Reopen in March 2020

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 6, 2019) – Washington County Division of Engineering notifies citizens that due to additional necessary masonry repairs to the stone arch bridges, the reopening of Poffenberger Road at the bridges is now scheduled for March 2020.  The posted detour route during the construction project utilizes Sharpsburg Pike (MD Route 65), Wagaman Road, and Garis Shop Road. Please see map below for reference.

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.
