In the year 2026, The United States of America and our very own Washington County will both be celebrating the historic milestone of their 250th anniversaries. To commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Washington County is hosting a 250th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center! For 250 years, our vibrant community has been a cornerstone of American history, culture, and progress. This momentous occasion is an opportunity to reflect on our rich heritage, honor our achievements, and look forward to an even brighter future.

Vendors and concessions throughout the evening, followed by fireworks. Free admission - all ages.

Boonsboro Independence Day Celebration
The event begins at 5PM with Fireworks at 9:30PM
There will be music and many food vendors in Shafer Park for everyone’s enjoyment. Lawn chairs & blankets are always welcome at our events!!

♿️ The Community Center parking lot will be OPEN for vehicles with “handicapped parking permits” only.
We strongly suggest that you do not bring your dog to the event because the fireworks are very loud and are right above the Park.
*The rain date for the Fireworks and Independence Day Celebration will be Sunday, July 5, 2026*
The Mayor and Council and the Boonsboro Park Board sponsor this event in Shafer Park. The fireworks display will begin shortly after dark.

Washington County's 250th Celebration

Join us on July 4, 2026, at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center as Washington County celebrates its 250th Anniversary with a full day of family-friendly fun, live entertainment, food vendors, community organizations, a car show, children’s activities, historical displays, a drone show, and a spectacular fireworks finale. Gates open to the public at 12 PM for this once-in-a-generation celebration honoring Washington County’s history, community, and future.

Hagerstown Municipal Band and Hagerstown Choral Arts Concert

The Hagerstown Municipal Band and Hagerstown Choral Arts invite the community to a free concert celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of Washington County,

Maryland, and the United States of America on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The performance will take place at the North Hagerstown High School Auditorium. This special anniversary concert will feature the Hagerstown Municipal Band and Hagerstown Choral Arts in an inspiring evening of music that reflects the rich history, enduring spirit, and shared heritage of our community and nation. The program will highlight patriotic selections and audience favorites, offering a meaningful and festive way to mark this historic milestone.

The concert is free and open to the public, and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend. No tickets are required.
