Washington County Urges Residents to Use Non-Emergency Number for Non-Emergency Road Reporting and Incidents

Washington County, MD (April 20, 2025) – The Washington County Office of Emergency Management, and Highway Department are advising the public on proper procedures following recent storm impacts.

If a road is completely impassable, residents are asked to call the non-emergency number at 240-313-4345 to report the issue. However, if a road is passable by at least one vehicle, please do not call.

The Highway Department’s immediate goal is to make every road passable by at least one vehicle. Crews will return next week to complete full cleanup and restoration efforts.

Residents are also reminded:

Please do not call Emergency Management or 911 to ask about power restoration. These lines must remain open for emergencies only. For updates on power restoration, please contact your utility provider directly.

We appreciate the public’s cooperation as crews continue working around the clock to restore normalcy across the county.

For further information or updates on the burn ban, please contact Washington County’s Public Relations and Marketing Department at 240-313-2380 or [email protected].
