Washington County Parks & Recreation Programs Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 5, 2024) – The Washington County Parks and Recreation Department announces that due to inclement weather ALL Washington County Parks & Recreation Department Programs and Rec Center Rentals at ALL locations including Hagerstown Community College and Martin Luther King Gymnasium will be cancelled on Saturday, January 6th.

Recreation Programs and Rentals located at WCPS Recreation Centers will also be canceled on Sunday, January 7th.

Program Cancelation

  • ALL Events and Locations – Saturday, January 6th
  • ALL WCPS Rec Center Programs and Rentals – Sunday, January 7th

WCPS Recreation Centers will be closed

  • Maugansville Elementary School
  • Pangborn Elementary School
  • Rockland Woods Elementary School
  • Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
