| WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (September 8, 2025) – The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is pleased to announce the official adoption of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan—a long-range strategic document that will guide the County’s growth, development, and preservation efforts over the next 20 years.
The Comprehensive Plan serves as a blueprint for Washington County’s future, outlining a shared vision developed through years of research, community engagement, and collaboration with key stakeholders. It addresses critical areas including land use, housing, transportation, economic development, natural resources, infrastructure, and community services.
