Tri-County Council for Western Maryland Launches Regional Survey to Improve Business Loan Programs, with Support from Washington County Business and Economic Development

HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 22, 2025) – The Tri-County Council for Western Maryland (TCCWMD), with support from the Washington County Department of Business and Economic Development, is seeking valuable input from the business communities of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties to help shape the future of its business loan programs.

As part of a region-wide effort to better align financial tools with today’s business needs, TCCWMD has launched a short, five-minute business survey, now open through Friday, August 15, 2025. Feedback gathered will directly influence how TCCWMD evaluates and updates its Revolving Loan Fund and SLoT Loan Program, helping ensure these financing resources are accessible, relevant, and impactful.

“We want to hear directly from our business community,” said Linda Spence, Financial Programs Administrator with the Washington County Department of Business and Economic Development. “This is an opportunity for Washington County businesses to speak up and shape how loan programs can better serve their goals and challenges.”

With over 50 years of service to Western Maryland, TCCWMD is conducting a strategic assessment of its lending programs in partnership with PPR Strategies, a regional consulting firm specializing in economic development. The goal is to modernize and enhance financial programs that promote small business growth, job creation, and long-term economic sustainability across the region.

All businesses in Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties are encouraged to participate in the survey. Your feedback is essential to helping TCCWMD identify financing gaps, improve program structure, and create more responsive, effective funding solutions.

Take the survey by August 15:
