The Washington County Boards of County Commissioners is Now Accepting Nominations for the 2024 Youth Meritorious Award

HAGERSTOWN, MD (February 1, 2024) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners invites the community to participate in recognizing outstanding young individuals through the Youth Meritorious Award. This prestigious award acknowledges exceptional achievements in scholastics, leadership, community service, and other positive contributions.

The nomination period is now open, and we encourage school staff, coaches, scout leaders, and other positions in youth organizations to submit deserving candidates who have demonstrated excellence in various fields. The Youth Meritorious Award is an opportunity to celebrate and encourage the bright and talented youth who make a significant impact on our community.

Nomination Details and Guidelines:

  • Nominees must be in middle or high school
  • They may attend public, private, or homeschool
  • Winners are chosen based on the following criteria:
  • Scholastic achievement
  • Leadership qualities
  • Community service
  • Other positive characteristics and contributions
