Registration for the 43rd Annual John C. Frye Preservation Awards is Now Open

HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 14, 2023) – Washington County Government announces the 43rd annual John C. Frye Historic Preservation Awards Luncheon will be held at the Academy Theater on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.
The luncheon is hosted by the Board of County Commissioners and the Historic Advisory Committee each year to award recipients for their dedication and commitment to preserving and protecting the history of Washington County. Recipients are nominated based on their efforts to preserve Washington County history through historic rehabilitation, restoration, adaptive reuse, and advocacy.
This year’s nominees include The Conococheague Banking House for preservation of an historic structure, Hill House in Rohrersville, MD for preservation of an historic structure, and Ed Beeler, Sharpsburg Town Archivist for advocacy.
Registration is required to attend the luncheon. Registration forms and a donation of $23 per person must be received by Sunday, April 30, 2023. Proceeds go directly to the Convention and Visitors Bureau to provide information and education about historic resources of interest to visitors of Washington County. To register, please contact Tom Clemens at [email protected] or 301-331-3877.
