Firefighter Academy Recruit Classes 6 & 7 Graduate in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (September 30, 2025) – The Washington County Division of Emergency Services (DES) proudly announces the graduation of Firefighter Academy Recruit Classes 6 and 7. The ceremony took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Kepler Theatre at Hagerstown Community College.

Family members, friends, and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the 21 graduates who have successfully completed their training and are now ready to serve the residents of Washington County and beyond.

The evening program included remarks from Jeffrey A. Cline, Vice President of the Washington County Board of County Commissioners, and a keynote address from Al Benjamin, retired Firefighter (Senior Man) of FDNY Rescue Co. #1. The ceremony featured a formal pinning of badges and an official swearing-in of the new recruits.
