HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 8, 2025) – The Washington County Department of Business and Economic Development is reminding the community that the deadline to submit nominations for the 2025–2026 Washington County Farm of the Year Award is quickly approaching. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Washington County is proud to be home to nearly 900 family farms, which play a vital role in feeding our community and supporting the local, state, and national economies. The Farm of the Year Award honors one exceptional farm and farm family that exemplifies the very best of Washington County agriculture through outstanding production practices, community engagement, conservation efforts, and innovation.

The selected farm will be formally recognized at the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on October 7, 2025, and will be honored at the Washington County Farm Bureau Annual Banquet on October 10, 2025.

Community members are encouraged to help celebrate the legacy and future of local farming by submitting a nomination. The application form is available at: Farm of the Year.
