HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 11, 2019) – The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) issued an Essential Air Service(EAS) Termination Notice DOT-OST 2006-25228 to Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) on August 23, 2019. This issuance denied the petitions for the continuation of the EAS Waiver, which currently services daily flights using Southern Airways. Flights currently fly to BWI and PIT.

The Board of County Commissioners, Maryland delegation and Southern Airways have been working together on an appeal to overturn this termination notice. The goal of this collaborative effort is to have the termination overturned prior to the scheduled termination of service, which is currently scheduled for October 18, 2019. If the appeal is not resolved prior to October 18th, there will be a disruption to Southern Airways service at HGR.
