REGULAR SESSION MEETING/WORKSHOP SESSION
JUNE 8, 2000

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Diehl called the Regular Session Meeting/Workshop Session ofthe Water and Sewer Advisory Commission to order at 6:15p.m. at the Washington County Water and Sewer Department Administration Office, 16232 Elliott Parkway, Williamsport, Maryland.

ATTENDANCE

A quorum was present including: Chairperson Christopher Diehl, Vice-Chairperson Glenn Fishack, Commissioner Gordon Crabb, Commissioner Steve Klick, Commissioner Ed Renn, Commissioner Bonnie Parks, County Commissioner William Wivell, Gregory B. Murray, Director of Water and Sewer and Jamie Calandrelle, Office Associate IV.Absent:Secretary Michael Armel

READING, CORRECTION AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Regular Session Minutes - May 11, 2000

Motion made by Commissioner Parks,seconded by Vice-Chairperson Fishack to postpone approval of minutes to the next scheduled advisory commission meeting to be held July 13, 2000.   Unanimously approved.

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION

None. (Attachment #2)

ADVISORY COMMISSIONER COMMENTS

Commissioner Crabb inquired about receiving compensation for mileage expenses to attend the advisory commission meetings in the absence of other compensation. Discussion followed. County Commissioner Wivell was asked to research the issue of consistency of compensation for all advisory boards.

DIRECTOR COMMENTS

Director Murray distributed a copy of a memorandum dated May 17, 2000 regarding compensation for members of boards and commissions (Attachment #3).Discussion followed.

CIPF Revenue – Projected & Actual 6/99 to 6/00 (May Reading) (Attachment #4) – Director Murray stated the amount for May was $59,284.00.Commissioner Crabb inquired about the March reading of $80,127.00. Director Murray stated the bulk of that amount was leachate. Discussion followed.

 Budget Summary – As of 5/31/00 (Attachment #5) – Director Murray stated the revenue amount for our administration fund is 84% complete. Discussion followed.

WORKSHOP SESSION

The Advisory Commission discussed in Workshop Session the closure plan of the Nicodemus Wastewater Plant. Several issues were discussed such as environmental, political, permitting/allocation and personnel. A worksheet packet is attached. (Attachment #6)

ADJOURNMENT

Motion made by Commissioner Crabb, seconded by Commissioner Klick to adjourn at 7:50 p.m.  Unanimously approved.
