PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Maugans Avenue Phase I Project consists of widening Maugans Avenue from 1 lane in each direction to 2 lanes in each direction and a continuous center left turn lane. Traffic signals will be installed at the I-81 ramps. Access management will be improved to allow for safer ingress to and egress from the commercial and residential properties on the corridor. A sidewalk will also be constructed along the length of the project, terminating prior to I-81.
The project will also include additional turn lanes at the intersection of Maugans Avenue, Longmeadow Road and Pennsylvania Avenue; and lengthening Precision Place by approximately 350' to the west of Mack Truck Road.
Construction includes, but is not limited to, grading, drainage, paving, curb and gutter, installation of a closed drainage system and installation of stormwater management system on Maugans Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Longmeadow Road and Precision Place. The limits of construction are as follows:
Maugans Avenue from the Southbond ramps of Interstate 81 to Route 11 (Pennsylvania Avenue), 4150 feet of construction.
Pennsylvania Avenue from North Pointe Drive to a point approximately 150 feet north of Maugans Avenue, 1045 feet of construction.
Longmeadow Road from Pennsylvania Avenue to a point approximately 325 feet east of Pennsylvania Avenue, 275 feet of construction.
Precision Place from Mack Truck Road to end, 775 feet of construction.
