Stormwater Management Program

Public Works Engineering & Construction manages the County's Stormwater Management Program by reviewing, approving, and inspecting all stormwater management ponds constructed. This program also includes ongoing follow-up maintenance inspections and the maintaining of a comprehensive data base which includes detailed information for all stormwater management structures in the County.

MISSION:
The mission of Washington County's Stormwater Management Program is to educate the public and to protect, maintain and enhance public health, safety and general welfare by protecting water quality and reducing local flooding associated with the effects of land development through the use of best management practices.

REMINDER - Washington County requires bi-weekly reporting by a qualified third party construction inspector to be submitted to the Division of Public Works, Engineeirng & Construction Department during the construction of any SWM facility.  Minimum critical inspections are also required to be performed by the Washington County Construction Standards Inspector during the construction process.  Please click here for further information.
