The Public Information Office works under the direction
of the Office of
the County Administrator, and is responsible for dissemination of
information for and about activities of county government.

Summaries of the weekly meetings of the Board
of County Commissioners of Washington County are posted to the County
website, as soon as is feasible following Commissioners' meetings,
often by the end of the
County workday. It is also possible to listen
to Commissiomners' meetings live during the weekly meetings by following links on the
main page of this website.
Photographs of Commissioners' Special
Activities and meeting highlights may be found on the Washington
County Home Page , including proclamations and Youth Meritorious
Awards.
General News Releases are posted as warranted.
The Office prodices "Commissioners Comment", a 15-minute
radio program aired by
WJEJ 1240 AM, Hagerstown, and WICL 95.9 FM, Williamsport/Martinsburg.
With coopefration of the Departmemt of Information Technologies,
these programs are
posted as blogs and podcasts through links at eGeorge on the
website and on iTunes under local government listings.
Developing and disseminating the County Administrator's
Annual Report is another function of the office.
