The Public Information Office works under the direction of the Office of the County Administrator, and is responsible for dissemination of information for and about activities of county government. The Office produces live streamed video webcasts of Commissioners day meetings, and archived meeting video-on-demand.  It is also possible to listen to Commissiomners meetings live during the weekly meetings by following links on the main page of this website.

General News Releases are posted as warranted. Check out the Press Release Index for older information.  The Office produces "Commissioners Comment", a 15-minute radio program aired by WJEJ 1240 AM, Hagerstown, and WICL 95.9 FM, Williamsport/Martinsburg. With cooperation of the Department of Information Technologies, these programs are posted as blogs and podcasts through links at eGeorge on the website and on iTunes under local government listings.

The office provides the public with general information about Washington County , acts as a referral service for other County Departments. For information regarding specific departments, send us an or call 240-313-2077.  Washington County respects the public's right to know about activities of local government. All requests for information will be processed promptly within strict adherence to Freedom of Information Act and Maryland Public Information Act guidelines.
