Yes, the Washington County Plumbing Board shall not register a master plumber, appliance installer, drain cleaner, or on-site utility contractor to perform plumbing services in Washington County, Maryland, without obtaining sufficient proof of insurance in the amount of $300,000 for general liability and $100,000 for property damage.
Yes, the Washington County Plumbing Board, by a two-thirds majority decision, may suspend or revoke the registration of a plumber in Washington County for a violation of the plumbing ordinance or code.

Any person who installs self-contained appliances to existing water and/or sewer piping systems. This does not include gas (natural, propane or LP). It does include, but is not limited to, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, icemakers, dishwashers, clothes washers and instant hot dispensers. It includes any work done as part of a retail business, as part of a service business or part of a business involving the sale of gas, electricity or other fuel with which such appliances are operated, whether such person owns the business or installs said appliances as the employee of another.
Any individual, person or firm who performs plumbing work while installing public water or public sewage no closer than five (5) feet from a building being serviced.
